Dog walking
Dog walking is a large part of my business. A walk is really important for your dog. It not only helps solidify a bond between dog and walker, it provides mental and physical stimulation, a way to outlet their energy and it also give them a bit of 1:1 attention. Even though I measure my services in time, a walk isn't about quantity - its about quality. It's about the dog getting what they need from their walk.

It is for this reason I do not offer group walks. In my personal opinion I do not believe I could give enough focus and attention onto more then 2 dogs on a walk. They deserve my full undivided attention and that is what they will get.

I offer walks in and around your local area and I also offer walks further a field for your dog to have some variety and an exciting trip out.

Van walks do not include travel times to the walk destination so the dog will still receive the full 30m/1hr walk. At the moment I do not travel further than 10 minutes away for a walk due to time and fuel restrictions.

Sometimes if we have been for a really muddy and wet walk I will end the walk a few minutes earlier to give myself some time to clean and dry your dog before dropping them back off.

My dog walking service is suitable for any and all dogs of any size, age and personality. If your dog has any specific behavioural challenges that requires training and behavioural modification on a walk please look at the behavioural walking services.

Each walk is tailored specifically to your dog. Where we go and what we do is entirely based on your dogs needs. From a slow, steady sniffy walk to a faster paced walk to release your dogs energy.

As part of my walks I do not let dogs off lead until I am certain they have a solid recall with me. Even though they may have great recall with their owners, to begin with they do not have that same bond with me. During our walks I will be working on recall with your dog and will always use a long line to give them more freedom and let them have a run around if they feel they need to.

I walk a maximum of 2 dogs at a time. If you wish for your dog to have some company, a play buddy or to have some socialisation on a walk I will match your dog with another that I feel matches with their personality. I also have my very friendly and calm golden retriever that sometimes tags along.

Overall I aim to give your dog a happy, fun and fulfilling walk.

In the case of extreme weather (hot temperatures, heavy rain (if your dog doesn't like rain), icy conditions) it may not be possible to walk your dog. I aim to walk dogs in any weather as long as it is safe. In cases of extreme/dangerous weather, I will be in touch the day before to make other arrangements for your dogs walk.
